Why Twitter’s dead and Threads isn’t saving it

I completely agree with you that Twitter's dead and Threads isn't saving it, at least for me. What I've noticed is that the people I've been trying to connect with on Threads are the same people who were already sharing and engaging with each other on Twitter, so it's not really expanding the reach or creating a new community. I've also lost a lot of old tweets because Twitter's algorithm has changed so many times - I've had to manually save a lot of my old conversations and funny tweets to external platforms because I couldn't rely on the old site to keep them around. *(edited)*

What do you think is the biggest hurdle for Threads in actually pulling ppl away from Twitter, beyond just the initial hype?
