A World Cup is always different and always leaves special moments both on and off the pitch.

Beyond the goals, the highlights, and the spotlight on the grass, the party is moving to the streets of the host cities. Even to other countries.

If there is one country in the world where the World Cup is experienced intensely even though its national team is not playing in it, that country is Bangladesh. At the last World Cup, fans in this country supported Argentina the whole way through. And this World Cup was not going to be any different.

Yesterday, Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium looked like Buenos Aires' Monumental. The home of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs was decked out in sky blue and white to cheer on Argentina. An image that is always iconic.

Friday's USA-Australia match is heating up. Between the exchange of comments from players on both sides, the fans are already starting to play their part too. And the Australians wanted to remind everyone of the country's president, Donald Trump, and the scandals he has been involved in. In their own way, of course.

France-Senegal was a match that brought back memories of a May morning in 2002 for true fans. The day Papa Bouba Diop toppled the reigning world champion French team. New York mayor Zohran Mamdani remembers that match too.

The bifana is part of Portugal's identity. A tasty sandwich that you can eat almost anywhere in the country. So it had to be there alongside the national team. In Houston, a local restaurant has not hesitated to capitalize on the World Cup buzz by making a killing selling this sandwich. And good for them.

Is there anything more 'deep American' than a rodeo? England fans are adapting to local traditions and, one day before their national team's match against Croatia, they did not hesitate to go to a rodeo to sing and have fun. As long as they do not climb onto a bull, everything will be fine...
