CrowdStrike (CRWD) Stock Faces High Expectations After Strong Gains, DA Davidson Stays Bullish

Shares of CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) have rallied more than 83% year-to-date as of September 3. The stock has significantly outperformed the broader S&P 500 Index, which has seen a 13% rise so far this year. CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) has also returned more than 400% over the past three years.

Additionally, analysts are positive on the stock, with a consensus Buy rating and a median 12-month price target of $240, suggesting about 13% upside from current levels.

On September 2, DA Davidson reiterated its Buy rating on CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) with a price target of $245 after attending the company's annual user conference, Fal.Con 2026, in Las Vegas.

DA Davidson said discussions with CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:CRWD) customers and partners at the conference were positive. The firm noted signs of strong demand for AI Detection & Response, along with continued vendor consolidation on CrowdStrike. The conference also included several new product and partnership announcements.

The research firm expects the company to provide an early look at fiscal 2028 Net New ARR growth. This could give investors greater visibility into CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:CRWD) longer-term growth prospects.

The company's second-quarter fiscal 2027 results also support the bullish case. CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) reported record net new ARR of $333 million as growth accelerated to 51% year-over-year. The company also raised its fiscal 2027 net new ARR growth guidance by 630 basis points to 34% year-over-year growth at the midpoint. CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) achieved record Falcon Flex results, with ending ARR from accounts that have adopted Falcon Flex surpassing $2.29 billion. Growth accelerated to 101% year-over-year.

Despite the strong growth outlook, the stock's valuation leaves little room for disappointment. The stock is currently trading at 172.41 times forward earnings after already making strong gains. This suggests that a significant amount of optimism is already reflected in the stock price.

Investors should also note that any slowdown in Falcon Flex adoption or difficulty maintaining high customer retention could negatively affect ARR growth and long-term revenue expectations. In addition, CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) reported a $33.2 million GAAP operating loss in the second quarter, even as the company generated positive GAAP net income.
