Liverpool’s long standing interest in Ayyoub Bouaddi appears to be gathering momentum, with fresh claims suggesting the club have already taken concrete steps in exploring a future deal for one of European football’s most exciting young midfielders.
According to an update from Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are among several elite clubs who have already made contact regarding the Lille midfielder, whose reputation continues to rise following an impressive start to the 2026 World Cup.
The 18 year old midfielder attracted widespread attention after an outstanding display for Morocco in their 1-1 draw against Brazil. While international tournaments can often accelerate hype around young players, Bouaddi’s performance appeared to reinforce views already held by scouts across Europe.
Romano revealed the extent of growing interest in the teenager.
“Lille are aware of what’s going to happen. Lille know very well that top clubs will come in for Bouaddi. Even before the World Cup, some of the biggest clubs in the world started some conversations with Lille.
“I can tell you that, between January and now, for sure he’s been approached by Paris Saint-Germain . At the moment they are not so busy with midfielders on the market, but PSG absolutely love Bouaddi and have been tracking him for a long time.
“We also have to mention that English clubs started having conversations for Bouaddi. For example, there were direct contacts with Arsenal and also with Liverpool.”
Those comments suggest Liverpool’s admiration extends beyond routine scouting and into genuine exploratory discussions.
