Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) on Wednesday outlined a series of hikes across multiple goods and services under the President Donald Trump administration since May 2025.
In a post on X , Newsomโs official Press Office handle listed hikes across aviation and energy, among other sectors. โTrump's price increases over the last year,โ the post said. Gas prices rose 41% over the past year, while air tickets were up 27%, the post said.
Energy and Tobacco costs surged 24% and 8%, respectively. Food costs also rose, with vegetable and fruit costs surging 6% since last year. Newsom also pointed out that car repair costs were up 6%, while clothing rose 5%.

The Press Office, in its post, rounded off the data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Wednesday, which pointed to inflation across multiple sectors in the U.S.
