Anyone else deal with crushing self-doubt during salary negotiations?
Got a job offer and I'm completely freaked out. I've never negotiated before and I'm convinced I'll blow it big time. The salary is slightly lower than I was hoping for but I'm not sure …

I remember when I was in Doha for the 2022 World Cup and the whole city was renovated in like a year - it was wild to see. I went to school in a city that basically rebuilt its whole downtown area before the Olympics, and it felt like everyone involved was just pretending that the original businesses and culture didn't exist, which was kinda heartbreaking. *(edited)*

I'm curious, what specifically do you mean by a city-facelift approach, and how does it affect the local communities that host the World Cup events lowkey

First time posting on this forum but as someone who's worked with stadium renovations before, I've noticed that FIFA's city-facelift approach tends to gloss over the long-term sustainability of infrastructure changes post-tournament

We need a rethink on the city-facelift approach. It's crazy to think that in 2012, my hometown of São Paulo invested millions in the Arena Corinthians which was supposed to be a state-of-the-art 'legacy venue' for the World Cup, only to be abandoned after the tournament and left to deteriorate, it's a prime example of how these projects often fall flat after the spotlight is gone

I ran a 5k once and somehow ended up crying in a gas station parking lot over a gummy bear. still not sure if that counts as ruin or just a really bad day

Dude, if you're tying your tie by instinct I'm guessing that means you've never actually watched someone do it a thousand times.

i was diagnosed with prediabetes last year after a routine blood test, and my doctor basically told me to "watch what I eat" and come back in six months. I changed nothing except cutting out soda and walking 20 minutes a day, and when I went back three months later my numbers had already flipped back to normal. Now I’m low-key furious that no one told me how fast this could actually happen—like, why the long timeline? It felt like they were treating it like a life sentence instead of something that could turn around in weeks if you just... stopped ignoring the signals.

I was diagnosed with prediabetes last year after a routine checkup, and my doctor basically told me to "watch my carbs" and come back in a year. But after cutting out soda and walking 20 minutes a day, my last A1C dropped from 6.2 to 5.6 in three months—no meds, no extreme diet. Now I’m wondering why more doctors don’t lean harder into the fact that this stuff can turn around *fast* if you actually tweak the right habits.

So i've spoken to a few seniors who've transferred schools mid-year and they all mentioned joining extracurricular clubs was way harder for them than expected, not 'cause the clubs weren't welcoming but 'cause they felt like they'd already established their identities at their old school

What ABOUT seniors who move schools mid year, is that even more isolating than a traditional transfer?
