AZRS Tools App Privacy Policy

Applies to the AZRS Tools mobile app for iPhone and Android. Last updated: October 2026.

The short version

There is no account and no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
The app has no advertising and no ad or analytics tracking SDKs.
Your camera video, photos, files, notes and scores are processed and stored on your phone only. They are never uploaded to us.
We do not sell your data.

What stays on your phone

The app saves these on your device so it works offline and remembers you: favourites, recently used tools, your chosen interests and settings, workout history and streaks, notes and lists you create, Quran bookmarks and reading position, saved news stories, game scores, and one-time passcode secrets you add to the authenticator tool. These are stored in the app's private storage and are removed when you uninstall the app. The authenticator tool stores its secrets on the device without extra encryption, so use a device passcode and do not rely on it for high-value accounts.

Permissions and why we ask

Camera: to count exercise reps, scan QR codes and barcodes, and run camera tools. Video is analysed on the phone in real time and is not recorded or uploaded.
Microphone: only when you open a tool that listens or records, such as the voice recorder, tuner or sound meter. Audio stays on the phone.
Location (while using the app): to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction for where you are, and for run and walk tracking. Your location is used on the device. When you search for a city by name, the name you type is sent to a public geocoding service to find its coordinates.
Photos: only the pictures you choose to pick, for example a logo for a QR code.
Notifications: for prayer-time reminders, adhan, workout and goal reminders that you switch on. You can turn them off in the app or in system settings.
Motion sensors: for the compass, level, step counter and similar tools.
Background audio: so radio and Quran recitation keep playing when the screen is locked.

Information that is sent over the internet

Most tools work fully offline. Some features contact servers to do their job:

AZRS servers (azrscorp.com): news stories, the radio queue and audio, the tool list, friend-race rooms (a room code, a display name you type, and your race progress), and tools marked LIVE. Like any server, ours receives your IP address and basic request details in order to respond, and may keep them in short-lived logs for security and reliability.
Quran services (such as quran.com and its audio CDN): tafsir, word-by-word text and recitation audio you choose to play.
Public data services: for example city search (Open-Meteo), public holidays, internet speed tests (Cloudflare), chemical and food information. Only what the specific tool needs (such as a search word) is sent.

Tools that load a page from azrscorp.com show the same page as our website, adjusted for the app. The app does not show web ads, and the website's own policy at azrscorp.com/privacy covers the website itself.

Children

The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app collects no personal information from anyone.

Your choices

Remove all app data at any time by uninstalling the app.
Revoke camera, microphone, location, photos or notification access in your phone's Settings. The related tools will stop working but the rest of the app will.
